I so wanna!
This weekend I tried to create flower arrangements in the style of Ikebana. The principles that guide this art form totally fascinate me!
For instance, you emphasize lines & curves, play color and texture against each other, and employ minimalism. Ikebana also uses the triangle shape in the arrangement - symbolically pointing to three essential elements in humanity: heaven, man and earth. Such a beautiful concept that is influenced by Buddhist tradition.
Purists practice this art form in total silence and meditation. I had no such success there - my kids were all over me and my Ikebana!!
