My pal, Courtney Chu, upcycles t-shirts into the cutest girls' dresses. Her one person company is called COURTNEY COURTNEY and her creations are quirky and sporty while being entirely girly.
Courtney started her business in 2001 when she purchased her first sewing machine during college. She's been playing with recycled t-shirts ever since - and i personally think she was partially responsible for starting the upcycling trend.
Her tagline on her blog couldn't describe her aesthetic more accurately: "I think every color goes together, or atleast I make them." (She is so cute!)
Even though I've seen some copycats, this girl is the real deal. Courtney's funky designs are 100% original and each garment is unique each and every time. And she's made over 3500 dresses so far!
By the way, the first 4 beautiful photographs above are by the talented Pascale Wowak. Her beautiful photogblog is HERE.
And here's my girl expressing how much she loves Courtney!
