A year ago today, we were not here.
We were having a holiday in my most favorite place in the world: Bali, Indonesia.
I traveled there in a previous life (before marriage and children) and promised myself that I would return to this tiny island paradise. So last year, we packed our bags and flew 14 hours so that we could immerse ourselves in the beauty and culture that is uniquely Bali! The experience with small children was even better than I had ever hoped or dreamt.
I must admit...I get very unhappy when I endure long periods of time not being able to use my hands to create something. This is true even when I am in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Knowing we'd be away from home for almost 4 weeks, we enrolled ourselves in a batik painting class. It was incredible hands on class taught by an old master! As you can see, even my girls were able to participate along side us. Their beautiful batik paintings are very treasured mementos of our holiday.
